DSLR and Lenses

Currently the DSLR has two main types. One has full screen, its sensors size is about the same as the traditional 35mm flim base camera. The other is APS-C, its sensors are smaller compared to the 35mm, and this is primary due to cost consideration

About lenses, there are man types of Lens. Depending on whether it can or cannot zoom in and out, it can be categorized into two types, the fix lens and the zoom lens. As in the name of the lens described it all, the Zoom Lens can zoom in and out. It allows the photographer to be able to compose a subject matter by zooming in or out to best compose the picture that he or she wants to establish without having to move himself/herself physically from the subject matter. By the way, a zoom lens is very convenient, but the fix lens produces a higher and sharper photo image.

Depending on whether is has assisted auto-focus, the lenses can be differentiated into auto-lens and manual-lens. When using an auto lens in shooting, the camera body will automatically focus. When using manual-lens, then everything will have to be manually set up from depth of field ring, aperture, and focus.

Photography is getting very popularized. It is no longer something only limited only the professional photographer. Automated idiot proof digitized photo equipment has made it accessible to just about everyone to do the point and shoot. But I think the real joy of photography is to be able to take a photo to reflects some emotion, tell a story, or relate an experience. I hope that more and more people will take up photography as a hobby sometime in the future.
