A Person Who Has Made Difference: Xin Qi Ji

Xin Qi Ji was born in the Southern-Song Dynasty. He was an outstanding literary scholar and was known for his excellence in both pen and the sword. Unfortunately, the military force and the national strength of the Southern-Song Dynasty were fatigued and weak. Therefore, his great ambition was unfulfilled.

Xin was a well-known patriotic scholar and soldier in Chinese history. His name is often compared to Wen Tian Xiang or Yue Fei. The distinctions amount them are that Wen Tian Xiang was not a soldier, and Yue Fei’s attainments of literature was not as famous as Xin’s. Xin can be said as one of the most loyal nationalist in Chinese history. In order to help the dynasty to retrieve its territory, he joined the service resolutely. Retrieving the lost land from outlanders was his lifetime goal. Xin grasped every opportunity he could to serve his country. He was also a righteous and honest person, and he devoted himself to his country. Consequently, we can’t praise him enough, for he has established a positive exemplar for Chinese people.

Xin Qi Ji was also a famous scholar. He wrote many various types of writings which were specialized in stirring and patriotic topics. His poetries, which were written in exquisite sentences, expressed his great aspirations, his strategies and opinions on how to rule the country, and how to bring the stability to the general populace. We can’t even use words to describe how much he has positively affected the Chinese culture.
